[German]Microsoft provides Servicing Stack Updates (SSU) for various Windows versions. These SSUs are mandatory to install other updates. Within this blog post I provide an overview which Servicing Stack Updates (SSU) are available to various Windows versions.
Some Background
To install updates in Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and various server variants, current Servicing Stack Updates (SSU) are mandatory. If the current SSU is missing, installation errors may occur. We saw these problems with Windows 7 SP1 in October.
Within the individual KB articles for Windows Updates, Microsoft now states whether and which Servicing Stack Updates (SSU) are a prerequisite for an installation. I also usually post these SSUs in my blog articles. As of November 2018, however, I would like to list the current SSUs.

This month Microsoft released ADV990001, which lists the first time the latest Servicing Stack Updates (SSU). Also blog reader Karl provided some lists via Twitter (thanks for that).
