PSA: Users of Windows 10 Version 1709 using HP laptops should avoid November 14, 2017 update KB4048955. After installing this update, HP’s 3D Drive Guard software installed on many HP systems is no longer compatible (see my blog post Issues with Microsoft’s November 2017 Updates).
