[German]Microsoft has also released a critical security update KB4074595 (Adobe Flash Player) for Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. This update raises Flash Player to version 28.0.0.0.161.

This critical security update had become necessary after a Zero-Day-Exploit has been spotted in the wild a few days ago (see my blog post New Adobe Flash Zero-Day exploit in the wild). The Flash Player update to version 28.0.0.0.161 was already available since days for Google Chrome browser and derivatives. Yesterday Adobe released the update for Windows 7, macOS and Linux (see Adobe Flash Player: New Update 28.0.0.161).

For Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 the update has to be distributed via Microsoft, because the Flash Player is integrated in the operating system. Update KB4074595 fixes two critical vulnerabilities (see Adobe Flash Player: New Update 28.0.0.161).

This security update resolves vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash Player that is installed on any supported edition of Windows Server Version 1709, Windows Server 2016, Windows 10 Version 1709 (Fall Creators Update), Windows 10 Version 1703 (Creators Update), Windows 10 Version 1607, Windows 10 Version 1511, Windows 10 RTM, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8.1, or Windows RT 8.1.

To learn more about the vulnerability, see ADV180004.

This update is available via Windows Update, but may downloaded also from Microsoft Update Catalog.
